Following the success of the awareness month, John Bercow MP called for an adjournment debate in the Houses of Parliament. All the charities involved in the awareness month plus several other brain tumour charities lobbied their MP's.

Trust Tops £40,000

Another generous donation has been presented to the Trust from Shell Expro Sports and Social Club. The cheque for £790 takes the total raised in the Trust's inaugural year to over £40,000

The Trustees have announced their aims for the New Year which are to include -
launching a website specifically for teenagers based around 'cancer' for those suffering from and those who have friends or family suffering from cancer.
providing information/help packs to families of children newly diagnosed with cancer.
funding a research project with the Samantha Dickson Research Trust

Equipment for Local Hospital

Children who visit the paediatric oncology department at James Paget Hospital in Norfolk will be able to benefit from the donation of a mobile blood pressure machine and a large syringe driver. This equipment will be on loan to children while receiving their treatment to minimise the number of visits they make to hospital. This was made possible by a grant of £2,150.07 being made by Ellie's Trust. It is hoped that in the New Year the Trust can begin an ongoing programme of providing aids and equipment for the use of children with cancer at the James Paget Hospital.
Shell Expro UK 8.9.03

Ellie's Trust was given a boost today to help benefit families in East Anglia who have a child suffering with cancer and to support the research into brain tumours. The Trust was nominated by employees of Shell UK, based at Lowestoft, and Trustee Kay Savage was presented with a cheque for £5,000

Donation to Research

The Ellie Savage Memorial Trust is pleased to have made a second donation of £1,000 to the Samantha Dickson Research Trust to fund the desperately needed research into brain tumours. We are working with SDRT and by April 2004 Ellie's Trust will be supporting a new research project
Donation to CLIC

In East Anglia CLIC provide a specialist care service for children with cancer or leukaemia - and their families. Ellie's Trust are pleased to have made a donation to CLIC of £5,000 which will help fund a specialist nurse and play specialist at Addenbrookes Hospital.

The Ellie Savage Memorial Trust has been set up to provide a network of support in East Anglia. There may be other support groups in East Anglia If you know of one which you think may be helpful to others please contact me
